SOCKS!

I finished one sock! I am almost done with the other one as well actually, but I really wanted to brag on this one :) It looks so nice, and it's the first one I ever knit! I got help from Roxy-min <3 who showed me the basis. It just needs the finition now, I want to add crocheted clovers to it. I'll take another picture later on when I am done and I get the time to do it properly. It's good I am done with this one, so now I know more or less what I like about it and what I don't, so I can use this one as a reference for my second pair. Can't wait!!! I know that I will do it with a bigger wool next time, because this one is like almost too tight for my feet - fits perfectly for my mommy tho. I will also try to make it last longer when I close up the tip, because I think bigger would look better. I'm happy I did not do apparent mistakes in knitting anyways <3
Lovely sock! I can't wait to add finition to it! <3

Yesterday at work we got a storm of people, it was only Tuesday but we got some 43 people, and I was the only waitress, with my boss as a helper. That was really harsh, especially since we got a 13 people table, who all asked for different kind of bills, and all wanted their own copies = result: I stayed stuck at the billing counter for at least 20 minutes. 20 minutes, at lunch time, for a restaurant, that equals homicide.

Today we got an okay lunch, about 23 people, but I spilled a whole pepsi diet - the 1/10 on a client, 2/10 on the floor, the rest on me. That was just perfect. I'm not angry for it anyways, I am learning, and on the whole, I actually did an okay job today I think, compared to the badluck I had last week.

Félixe & Cupcakes

This weekend my parents are on a 3 day bicycle trip around the region so I am alone with my brother and Guri home~~ This morning I got woken up by a baby girl's cry of despair. After a while I realised that it was my niece, and my brother who had come say hi to my parents, and had realized too late that they were not there. They were about to leave when I got downstairs. Poor Félixe, she was crying, so sad to have come to gpa gma's place without them. We ended up making this a happy little productive morning the three of us before they left around 12h15.

Isn't she a sweetheart?????

Today was a really warm Fall day, it was around 29 degrees and it was sunny. This afternoon, after making some of my university homework I made cupcakes with Guri and we had a lot of fun, even though we both feel fat and gross for eating too much (mind you, we did not even really eat the cupcakes themselves, we just ate too much of the pizza we made for supper...).

Anyways, we ended up making sweet things, and I am happy we decided to do that. On the first pictures I took we did not have the fruits, but later on we had a run to the grocery - literally in the hopes of clearing our full stomacs - and bought strawberries and raspberries to put on top, which enhanced the look of the most ugly ones...
Guri took this picture with her ipad, and her 'I love G' lol
Yummy yummy cupcakes...
That one is the happy 'with strawberry' first one I modified...

Moo Gyul and Kidston

I had a weird dream yesterday, I cried a lot in my sleep. The dream was really weird though, and I felt sad even an hour or so after as I was lying in bed. It was a weird dream though. My boyfriend in the dream was Kang Moo Gyul from Mary stayed out all night the drama. And I don't know what was wrong with his brain a tumor or something, but he was to die. I remember that the dream was quite long, and that before we knew it was a brain tumor or something, he had insights in the dept of things, and said a serie of numbers and places that ended up being a coded way to see all the important things he had cherished during his life, and his adieux to the world. That was a weird dream. I mean, Moo Gyul? Where did that come from. I haven't seen this actor in so long too. ..

Today, the weather got really warm again for Fall weather, and it is ironic that it's warm now that it's officially Fall, and the end of the summer was so cold. It was some 20 degrees outside and through my kitchen window I had the pretty morning sight of my bright green bamboo with the red apple tree in background. It felt really happy at the time, and nostalgic somehow - most probably because if the fucked up dream I had before...

I recieved my Cath Kidston package!!! Yay! This is bad, I really spend a lot of money in ordering stuff online lately. Internet is evil, it is my last resort in a small town like here, where they have no brand bags and accessories except Guess, that I find tasteless and tacky...

Kyaaa~~ New Iphone case! I like it a lot :) I probably will not decorate this phone like I did the others....yet

Nailart

Today at work we had shortcake for dessert! I felt like I had way too much sweet stuff lately so I did not try it but it looked amazing!!! I love shortcake. I love strawberries.

I also did my nails today. It's been way too long since I did take the time to, so I both did my hands and feet, trying the new polish pen I bought last time I went to Montreal. I like the result, even if to be honest I did have a lot of trouble and am not completely satisfied with the result of the one on my left thumb. They always are trouble, stuffs painted on the good hand....

The week of Goodies!!!

I received letters today!!! From Fred <3 <3 <3 <3 three of them. I love receiving real letters, they are worth so much more than e-mails because you feel that there was a time the  person actually took to sit, and think about what to write. Nowadays, people do many things while writing e-mails, watch shows, talk to other people, do homework and the like, so I do not feel like an e-mail is such a special thing, even though it is sometimes the only way to stay in touch with people that are far, which do not share my love for handmade stuff... a necessary evil I'd say, e-mails...

Anyways, the danger with paper letter is to write them and to take days and months to end up sending them. It happens all the time, so this time I took the time to sit down and write letters as soon as I received these. I wrote to Keum Yeo and Julie that I had not written letters to for ages on top of writing back to Fred, so my hand ended up writing quite messily... oh well.

I was done before 4h30, so I ran up to the post office to post them asap, since it's quite close to my place. On my way back, what do I see? a Canada Post truck. I get home just on time to get two parcels that he was going to bring back to the post office. I felt so lucky! I received my head accessories from Alexandre de Paris!!! The other parcel was a coat my brother had ordered and had been waiting for such a long time.

This on is REALLY huge, I can't wait to try it in my hair~
This one is quite small, perfect for tying part of my hair together when I work. Plus, it's classic

I received my driving license today through mail!!! I can now start practicing driving fu fu fu fu. Can't wait... while I actually dread it a lot...

New goodies!!!

I forgot that I did have a lot of other things to mention in my last blog. My bad, since I write them through my iPhone, I always end up not writing as much as I should or I forget details: there are list to the time one wants to use typing on a iPhone keyboard....

Anyways!

First of all Guri's mother packed two small purse for me in a package she sent her last week, and with work I ended up not taking proper pictures of them so here they are!!ヾ(@⌒ー⌒@)ノ

Cute rose purse with a chain shoulder strap
I really like the leather of this one, it is really a cute clutch

Yesterday I went to do some window shopping in the few stores that have clothes I like - me being quite picky - on the way to get plain black leggings for belly dancing class, and I ended up buying two sweet dress shirts. Both of them look awesome and I like the pink one a lot for it's simple but classic style. Also, it was 60% on sale or something so I paid it only $40 or so. The spotted one was more expensive, $180 or so, but I don't regret buying it.

I can't wait to try it on. It is quite transparent though so I'll
need to be careful what bra I wear under it. I want to wear it
with a high waisted black skirt <3
Silk shirt, old pink colored
Picture of me wearing it today, it's just a bit transparent

I finally took the week end to clean things up only bedroom and change the summer clothes for fall winter ones. Here is a peek of the dress part of it....

Finally, Guri gave me something awesome today: a lipstick! But it is not just a lipstick, it is a kind I've never seen before and it really smells sweet, sorts of the smell if a hand cream I had that was "kiwi carambola" scented. It's round!!! I love it!!

Interesting fact of the day:
Did you ever kill an insect and find that its insides are reallllly of a weird color? Did it happen to you to actually LOVe the color? I mean, find it actually pretty? I think I must be sick somewhat. But I killed a weird beetle today and its insides were aqua! I never could have imagined that color from he insides of an insect. Could it be that the actual aqua paint comes from beetle juice? ...to be continued ha ha

Le DiableRon

Today I spent the day doing homework in l'Abstracto with a raspberry strawberry herbal tea so my day was not really interessing. I took an awesome Repassa however, that need mentionning (mix of salsa, cheese, sour cream, olives, pieces of chicken and lettuce in a plate to be eaten with tostitos - awesomeness). After a couple of hours being there a guy a couple of table in front of me paid me another tea~ that was sweet. Still don't know if it's because he thought I was working hard (my wishful thinking) or if he was hitting on me, but that does not matter, it's sweet anyways.

I have no clue in how to write the name if the sketchy pool bar we went to after my shift at Bistro Jezz, so u write it this way. It was a fun evening And we sort of celebrated the birthday of one of the girl I work with. Here are some pictures of the evening.

The birthday girl and Sandy acting silly; she would not stop moving so I gave up on taking
a better picture
My boss and Steph; awesome cooks ―3
My brother and Steph playing pool ~~
During the evening, we had a birthday group who had asked Jezz to specifically make a cake. It was a paradise! While I would never si that if I had a business, as I did it too hard to manage on a long period, I admire her passion in making small things out of the routine to client's requests. The cake was a Baileys cheese chocolate raspberry little heaven, with fresh raspberries inside between the different stages if the cake. Here is a picture as well ヾ(@⌒ー⌒@)ノ

Scent of a Woman

This one is just a small little post to say that I am done watching Scent of a woman, and this drama is so sweet >///< It is a must watch for people who watch Korean dramas and are sick of the usual "bad step mother, sick person, death, sadness and hypocrisy". While most of these traits come back even in that drama, the way they show things, in a positive way, is  very sweet and refreshing. I liked it very much <3 It was mind candy the whole time <3

Freezing Friday

I think we have wonderful seasons in Abitibi. Hot hot Hot in summer and cold cold cold in winter yes, but there is a quality to the air and the temperature that I have yet to find in other places. What I mean here is for example, a typical fall-like day. The morning is freezing and depending on the heating habits of the place you stay at, the air in your bedroom might be crispy cold.

That my friends is the key part: the air is cold and fresh, and the blankets warm and cozy. Laying in bed is so perfect then!

After morning passes, Abitibi's sky are most of the time bright and sunny sky, and warm up the day just enough to enjoy being outside in a warm coat. It gets you pink cheeks which I find particularly beautiful.

When night comes, the sky stays clear, which helps the temperature to drop in the little hours of the morning, bit allows you to watch the moon and the thousands of stars.

Because we are lucky enough to see stars from downtown as well!! Well obviously the town's light makes it harder to see stars than from further in the countryside but then, we see some anyways and they are really pretty!

Today was such a Fall day

Sun coming down warming the day at 10 a.m. on my way to work

How do we call the duck on the back of a one CA dollar? Anyways it's that bird.

The same lake Osisko, on my way back, with the shining moon (bad picture render)

Fall has come again... let us freeze to death...

** Sorry I had to repost this, I deleted the previous one by mistake. My bad **

It went under zero yesterday night and it was rainy shitty and many other y ending words. The way back from work on foot and from school was really a pain! However, I recieved my Cath Kidston bags~~~! So the day is happy, warm and beautiful!
-> here comes the materialistic girl in me

Yes, I HAD to shoot the sheep as well. I had to.

I've already used this one for school and it's just perfect. Bags are best when they stay straight.
I cannot however deny that fall has come and I decided to take all my summer dresses away to wash them for the cold season to come. I'll get my fall and winter clothes out this weekend because, well. I certainly do not want to freeze to death with the lack of good heating - my parents being a little bit too "let's protect the Earth" to heat properly in the house - as I, afterall, still have my new bags to use (~_~;)

I realized something today. As I never had any trouble getting in McGill, and pretty much aced most of my classes - except English and a weird Aztec architecture class I took by mistake - I never really took it seriously, or for a real compliment when people were impressed I got in such a 'prestigious university". I never believed myself to be so intelligent or anything anyways - now I don't know whether that is underestimating myself or being realistic. However, today I realized that, maybe McGill is indeed more on the kick-ass university side, that asks much more from its students than other schools. I just had the presentation of my final paper for one of my classes today: a 7 pages paper in an interview of a teen between 12 and 17 years old. wow. At McGill I would have a paper like this every two weeks or so and the final of those classes would be minimum 10 pages long. And mind you, English papers are far more demanding than French ones, where you can afford to make sentences pretty by rephrasing things endlessly and repeating things on and on. English papers need to be clear, consise: straightforward. Otherwise it's crap. So even filling 5 pages in an English paper is at least the equivalent of content of a 8 page paper in French. Don't expect anything more than a C if you write an English paper the way you write one in French. That is the sad truth of life.
I never believed McGill was so demanding nevertheless. Now I know.

Can I feel a bit proud?

Finally, I'll end this post on what will probably be the last flower of my garden this year, as it is getting quite cold for new flowers to bloom. I remember planting these ones with my mother sometimes like 10 years ago. I think they are called Chinese Lanterns; pretty self-explanatory term if I may suggest. I love this plant. They only appear in Fall, as they are hidden by the other flowers during late summer. When all the others around wither however, the Chinese Lantern seems to emerge from the background and is very pretty to look at.

One more Day!

Today I had a great time at work, I worked with my brother and we had more clients than since the beginning of the week. We had like 30 or something. I had a sweet lunch right after and here I'll post a picture. I was not really hungry so I just had one starter of zucchinis and the fondant chocolate with a capuccino. A little bit of awesomeness.

Today I had my first belly dancing lesson with my mother, my sister (my brother's wife <3) and her mother; the four of us had loads of fun ☆*:.。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆ While I can say I positively suck, I think it is awesome and I can't wait for next week's class. I'm happy I ended up subscribing~~

My happy tingling belt. I love it, it's so noisy and pink <3

Happy cookies!

I just had my mothers homemade cookies!! These babies are so good! Coming back from university right after working thus morning, and all that without a proper meal I had a bit of hypoglycemia and I got back home with my hands shaking.

Know the feeling?

Well as I got home my mother had just finished baking chocolate chip cookies. I jumped on the pile <3 god exists ha ha ha that was my first thought.

At the restaurant where I work they just acquired a special oven to make smoked meat and fishes. They are going to make home made jerky and smoked salmon and the likes. This is going to be so good!! You people should come and try it! They were making tests today with salmon.

Weekdays in Rouyn

Today was busy.
I worked until 3 and then walked up to the SAAQ to get my driving license, woot woot!

Then I went home and slept, chilled with guri, knit a bit.

A pretty boring day to talk about, but a happy one. I had been having problems sleeping lately and for the last 2 days I sleep better...

September Summer Day

Today is such a nice day! I went for ice cream with Guri and the daughter of her AFS advisor. By the way, the organism through which Guri has come visit Canada is called AFS (American Field Service) and it is an organisation that started in one of the World War and came from the idea of two firefighter - american and french - that talked about culture differences and wanted to believe that the key to avoid other wars was to understand the difference in every culture and embrace them. They thus started organizing student exchanges between europe and the States at first, and then expanded to other countries to what it is today. Is it with AFS that I first went to Japan for my 11 months student exchange in 2005.

The day was warm and icecream was soothing. We should have a Yeh! here thought. That would be so good. I miss Montreal's Yeh! and its Rolopan. Today it was 27 degrees! After the cold week we have had this weather was more than welcome, though I had put on tights and a warm acrylic sweater to go out so I was a bit overheated TT__TT Anyways! The day was really humid and a few minutes ago the sky gor very dark: I suppose there is going to be heavy rain that lowers down the temperature very soon. I took nice pictures while I was outside however, and the light came out really nicely.

I love the red of the small canoe mixed with the green of my backyard,
it's a small heaven that I really miss when I am away from my parent's <3

Are you sick of seeing the same flowers over and over again? I am not. So better get used to it.

We planted strawberries a couple of years ago my mother and I, but never ended up getting results. This year, however we do have a couple of cute strawberries that appear now and then. Today there were two of them that were ready, and maybe 4 or 5 that were still half, or all white. I can't wait to eat them later <3

Strawberries and Chocolate <3
Small Strawberries

Oh, as you can see, I also tried my new nail paint pens and made cute strawberry patterns. I wanted to tone down the yellow a bit so I put a light shiny transparent green color on top of it, but I regretted: I should have put it before making the strawberries, now they are a bit too unclear and lack detail. I will try to do better next time.

Garden Flowers and Iphone Apps

Yuki having Iphone Pudding Camera fun

Remember the white and pink flower that I liked from the garden? In a week or so, almost all the white flowers turned into a bright pink! It's so pretty!  Here are some picture I took with my new toy~~

I took those pictures with the Pudding Camera App effect

Guys should be like this flower: they'd make you fall in love, and then, fall in love again.

We had tons of veggies ready in the Garden today~~ woot woot! I picked up the first red pepper (I don't know how you call this when it is not a spicy one but anyways...). It's so cute and so brightly red!!! We have one mini-zucchini as well~~ It sucks though we only realized today that they were 'mini' zucchinis. We lost 2 of them already, thinking they were going to get bigger and ending up letting them rot away. Poor babies.
